Flashback to 1936 where Dennis’s audio magic lets me sing with my grandfather, Emil Cote.
In the 1930’s and 40’s my grandfather was a superstar conductor on the radio. In 1936 he conducted the 20 voice modern choir on the top rated Maxwell House Show Boat program.
In this clip and these pictures, the show visited Cleveland’s Grand Lakes Exposition, playing to a live radio audience of over 16,000. The tenor was 1930’s radio star, Lanny Ross. I had an arrangement of “You’ll Never Know,” done for me, Dennis digitized the original, we went into a recording studio, and I went 80 years back in time and sang a duet with Lanny Ross, as my grandfather conducted.
Gives me chills. (I come in a 2:08)
